Wearable, Embraceable Inclusivity: What we mean by "Sensory-Friendly"

Fashion is something I believe should be accessible to everyone. The designs I create are born from my personal perspective and needs. Inclusivity is at the core of what I do – it's woven into every piece I make. I often use the term 'sensory-friendly,' and I'd like to explain its significance. It all started with the messages I was receiving from customers. People consistently shared how comfortable they felt in the fit and feel of my designs, and that truly touched me.

The members of my neurodiverse team bring varied lifestyles and problem-solving approaches to the table, which is how we've crafted garments that are both cozy and versatile. However, I understand that what feels good and functions well can vary for each individual. It's a personal journey for all of us, here are a few features that I have included to help everyone feel comfortable in my designs.

Sensory-Friendly Fabrics:

Many individuals have praised our fabrics as sensory-friendly, which has made them a preferred option for people dealing with sensory sensitivities. Specific textures and materials can trigger discomfort or irritation for some people that's why I meticulously choose gentle fabrics that are soft on the skin, putting the comfort and well-being of our wearers first. By favoring woven fabrics over jersey, my designs ensure a seamless glide on the skin, minimizing the chances of any discomfort. You won't find any micro-fiber nightmares here! Our much-loved tencel twill gracefully drapes over the skin, enabling it to breathe freely.

Accessibility Features:

My brand is all about making clothing accessible, and with a team staffed by individuals with a wide range of disabilities, I've personally designed each piece with this in mind. This ensures that everyone can have a comfortable and enjoyable experience when wearing my designs.

  1. Seam Comfort: I know how bothersome seams in odd places can be, causing irritation and discomfort. That's why every seam lays flat to ensure my garments feel smooth against the skin.

  2. Move with Ease: Freedom of movement is crucial, and my designs prioritize that. I've chosen styles that don't restrict body movements, allowing you to go through your day without feeling confined or uneasy.

  3. Natural Fabrics: I've made a conscious choice to use natural fabrics instead of synthetic materials. Not only are natural fabrics more eco-friendly, but they're also soft, breathable, and gentle on the skin. Avoiding synthetic fabrics ensures a more pleasant and enjoyable wearing experience.

  4. Considerate Labels: Every detail counts, even the small ones. That's why I've used cotton for my garment labels, eliminating any potential discomfort caused by scratchy or synthetic materials.

  5. Comfy Waistbands: Elastic waistbands are meant to provide comfort and flexibility, but we've all experienced the ones that dig into our skin – and it's not pleasant. I've ensured that my elastic waistbands offer breathing room for ultimate comfort and flexibility while keeping your pants on of course. No tight waistbands here!

Fashion should not be a barrier that stops someone from freely showcasing their individuality or participating in various aspects of life. Instead, fashion should enable and support self-expression and inclusion for all.

I'm always eager to hear from you. Do you have any thoughts or feedback on the points I've shared? Your input helps shape the future of my brand and ensures that I'm meeting your needs and expectations. Please feel free to reach out through social media or email and share your thoughts with me. I'm excited to work together to create a more inclusive and comfortable fashion experience for everyone.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
